Bruno Bastos Grand Opening & Tribe Fundraiser

On January 11th, 2020, Jiu-Jitsu Tribe promoted its most successful fundraiser event to date in Midland, TX.

The event was the Grand Opening of Bruno Bastos Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy and Bruno’s 5th Degree Black Belt Graduation. For this celebration, Bruno partnered up with Jiu-Jitsu Tribe’s Co-Founder Gustavo Dantas, to promote a fundraising seminar for the organization.

Nearly one hundred people supported the event raising nearly $7.5K towards phase one of Projeto Formando Campeones in Salvador, Bahia.

The project provides jiu-jitsu training for kids in one of the roughest areas in the state.  They currently train on mats placed on the side of the street!  Jiu Jitsu Tribe is raising money to get the Delio Lima (Founder) and the kids the academy the deserve.  Our goal is ambitious but with the help of our generous donors, we believe we can make it happen.  The overall objective of the initiative is to complete the following:

  • Purchase land for the future academy
  • Construct a reliable building to house a training room and bathrooms with showers.
  • Purchase new mats for the training room
  • 1 year Operational costs (water, electricity, etc)

After this seminar we are now at 68% ($12,300) of our phase 1 goal of $18,000
